I help executives think clearly in consequential moments.
Not in theory. In real life
Sometimes I’m a coach. Sometimes a sounding board. Sometimes a devil’s advocate. The role changes. The goal doesn’t: clear thinking and steady leadership when it counts.
about
Brian Brennan
I spent more than three decades in executive roles before ever coaching a single leader.
My career began in finance. After earning my CPA, I moved into senior leadership roles across manufacturing and product distribution, where I was responsible for operations, performance, and growth. Over time, I learned that while financial statements tell you where you’ve been, leadership determines where you go next.
Those years shaped my understanding of responsibility. Leadership is not abstract when you are responsible for payroll, for performance, and for the livelihoods of the people around you. Decisions rarely arrive cleanly. Most carry consequences that extend far beyond the numbers.
One CEO once told me his goal was simple: to run the business with his brother and still enjoy Thanksgiving dinner together. That conversation had nothing to do with strategy. It had everything to do with clarity, perspective, and trust.
Eventually, I reached a point where I wanted to work more directly with leaders themselves. I wanted to work alongside those carrying the same responsibility I had carried.
That path led me to TEC Canada.
Today, as a TEC Canada Master Chair, I facilitate confidential peer advisory groups for CEOs and senior executives. These groups create space for leaders to step back from their organizations and think clearly, often alongside peers who understand the weight of the role in ways others cannot.
In 2024, I was honoured to receive the Robert Nourse Award, the highest recognition for a Chair within TEC Canada. When I received the call, my first reaction was disbelief. Not because the work hadn’t mattered, but because recognition had never been the goal. The work itself had always been the reward.
Over the past 14 years, I’ve worked with leaders through growth, succession, ownership transitions, and moments where the future of their organizations was uncertain. In that time, I began to see patterns in how leaders and organizations navigate change. Change OS emerged from those observations, as a way to help leaders and teams move forward with clarity and alignment.
I live in Aurora, Ontario, where I’ve built both my career and my family life. My wife and I have been married for more than 40 years. We have three children and five grandchildren.
Outside of work, I spend much of my time reading and staying close to emerging ideas in business and leadership. Leadership continues to evolve, and so does the work.
At its core, what I provide is simple.
A place where leaders can step back, think clearly, and move forward with confidence.
